L’Altra Casa

Created in the former parish house of the Church of San Severo, thanks to the support of Compagnia di San Paolo, IKEA, and IBM, Altra Casa represented a place where young mothers from the neighborhood and their children could find comfort, support, and solidarity. Among colorful furniture, plush toys, rugs, three workshops, a computer room, a screening room, and a kitchen, the staff of the “Il Grillo Parlante” cooperative organize morning activities for mothers and afternoon programs for more than 50 children, including after-school support and music workshops. Since 2014, Altra Casa has also become the music hub of the Rione Sanità, where children and young people from Sanitansamble rehearse every day with their instructors.
