The project: Sanitansamble Music has a universal language and is an extraordinary vehicle for the education of young people living in areas of social distress. The orchestra is like a small society. Playing together is an opportunity for joy but also for personal growth. It is a way to learn the fundamental values of civil living, to learn respect for others, sharing, solidarity, rules and discipline. The Sanitansamble project has been operating in Naples since 2008. It is inspired by the educational method of the Venezuelan El Sistema by Josè Abreu, but also and above all by the tradition of the four Ancient Neapolitan Conservatories that since the sixteenth century have been carrying out the ethical-social task of welcoming waifs and small disadvantaged children offering them a high-level musical education. Thus inserting them into the flourishing productive world of music and theatre of the time, as well as creating a culture of Neapolitan music exported all over the world.

Born in the Sanità District and established as the Sanitansamble Association since 2014, the project has extended its intervention in the Forcella neighbourhood for three years. These two territories of the city's historic centre are often associated with stories of decay and marginalization. However, they are rich in a historical-artistic heritage of extraordinary importance, and are primarily inhabited by many children, who are a true treasure of humanity that deserves support, trust, and enhancement.
